Changing Vegas was founded by Las Vegas visionary Dave Thompson, also known as “The Las Vegas Son” and “Super Dealer.” A Millennial, Dave’s been a high limit casino dealer in Las Vegas for the last 13 years. Now, he’s using what he knows about Vegas gamers to create skill-based video and casino games for the next generations.

Dave’s dealt all the major Las Vegas casino games, including poker, craps, blackjack, roulette, and baccarat and has seen thousands of hours of action. (He has played poker and craps to supplement his income along the way and has been a video game strategist and player since he was six years old.

From a Professional Casino Dealer’s Perspective

The perspective you get from our videos and projects isn’t just from a casino perspective or a player’s perspective, but from the eyes, ears (and mind!) of a seasoned Las Vegas dealer. This inside knowledge is key to better understanding how Las Vegas gaming really works. At Changing Vegas, you can both learn and have fun as we take you behind the scenes.

The Las Vegas Son was also a professional gaming instructor in Las Vegas. Over the last five years, he’s trained hundreds of new dealers, helped prepare them for auditions, getting them placed in dealer positions throughout the Las Vegas Valley (on the Strip, downtown Las Vegas, and elsewhere). Some of his former students appear in our videos.

Dave has dealt in the World Series of Poker (WSOP), and has trained dozens of WSOP dealers over the last two years. Whatever the game, his sense of humor and the innovative, fun techniques he’s developed will make Las Vegas gaming more fun and profitable for you. For beginners and intermediate players, he breaks concepts down and makes it easy to understand and use while in Vegas, (even the math)! And, he offers new insights for more advanced players.

We’re Developing New Games and Products for Millennials (and younger)

In 2020, amidst Covid-19, Changing Vegas launched SuperDealer, the first professional online casino dealer training school. We also developed the prototype for CCG Poker, a new 4-person poker game that combines CCG (collectible card game) and casino table game elements.

In 2021, Dave developed Asteroid Arena! – a new video game that’s poised to become the next eSports sensation. Watch and participate in the process as we take Asteroid Arena! from concept to funding in 2022.

In addition, in 2022, we’ll be releasing CCG Poker (now called Kings Court Poker).

Dave graduated from Iowa State University in Psychology and Communications, with a minor in English. He’s an aspiring filmmaker and actor. He loves Rick & Morty and making people laugh, and has been involved in computer gaming, cards, and probability all of his life. He knows the ends and outs of the industry – and is excited to share his experience (and stories!) with you here on Changing Vegas.
